1 tent, us 2, 4 countries, 16 passport stamps, 20 days, 5627km and a lifetime of memories.
I faired way better than I ever thought I would on this trip, the things that I thought would be challenges like waking up early daily, setting up and taking down my tent everyday just ended up being an enjoyable way of life. All I will say about this trip is that it should be high up on your bucket list The pictures speak for themselves.

"Go to Mozambique! As long as you don't expect to find flawless infrastructure, just go. Because this is a country where people have not quite grown accustomed to tourists. You still feel a genuineness that no longer exists in countries where tourism has been industrially developed" - Henning Mankell I'm not going to write much about this trip at all because I actually don't enjoy writing as much as I thought I did. Photo's though, that I love, so tons of pics.
This Mozambique adventure was an awesome road trip filled with laughter, good music, bad music (on repeat) and some awesome new friends. The trip had a few hiccups along the way but honestly they all added to the experience, I can honestly say trip was anything but boring. Our van got stuck in sand, we paid bribes at roadblocks because of dodge and corrupt police officials, people were handcuffed and thrown into police cars. On top of all this drama I didn't even bother to take any malaria tablets :-). I wouldn't recommend this to anyone one, be safe out there. Long story short we drove up on a Wednesday night (reaching our spectacular destination on Thursday evening!) and back on Sunday morning. The weekend was fun. Our awesome accommodation in Tofo was Vanilla Views If you ever do this trip, rent a 4x4, lots of sand in Tofo! "I'd never walked on snow 'til I was 50, you know. There's no snow where I come from "- Paul Hogan The past few years have been spent running away from the cold and wetness of Cape Town chasing the sun in far away lands. Crazy part is that growing up I always enjoyed winter the most, I was always the guy wearing shorts in the middle of extreme rainy or stormy weather.
Below are some pics from this years winter getaway. I think it's safe to say I have fallen in love with winter once more and I am starting to view it as my favourite season again. "Johannesburg is weird, because half of it is like Los Angeles. It feels like just wealthy parts of L.A. But half of it is severe slummy, something like Rio De Janiero or something. So it's kind of weird, because it's both happening at the same time." - Neill Blomkamp To be honest, this is far from being my favourite part of South Africa, I could go on for hours about why i'm not fond of Johannesburg BUT this particular trip was one of my favourite trips there in a while.
"Nature did not put whales on this earth to splash kids while stuck in a pen" - Jane Velez-Mitchell My girlfriend LOVES Hermanus, she really does. With that being said we never need much of an excuse to head out onto the open the road and make our way down there. Luckily it is only an hour and half drive out of Cape Town.
“Love will wreck your heart like a derailed train. So choo-choose your partner wisely.” - Jarod Kintz, This Book Has No Title I've always been about the journey more than the actual destination and nothing is more comfortable for long distance travel than an overnight train unless you're on a private yacht or something .. The fact that it's budget friendly helps a great deal too. With this is mind we booked ourselves 2 Johannesburg to Cape Town one way tickets with Shosholoza Meyl.
